AI / Machine Learning Engineer

About This Role

Giggrabbers is seeking an AI / Machine Learning Engineer to build, fine-tune, and deploy machine-learning models and integrate large language models into client products. This is a freelance position at the core of the AI economy — from training and evaluating models to shipping production LLM features, RAG systems, and ML-powered applications.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in research and production: prototyping with the latest models, then engineering reliable, cost-efficient systems that deliver real business value.

Responsibilities

• Build, fine-tune, and evaluate machine-learning and deep-learning models for client use cases
• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models) into applications and internal tools
• Design and ship Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and vector-search systems
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize models in production for accuracy, latency, and cost
• Build data pipelines for training, evaluation, and continuous improvement
• Run experiments, benchmark models, and document trade-offs for stakeholders
• Stay current with rapidly evolving model capabilities and recommend the right tool for each problem

Qualifications

• Portfolio of shipped ML / AI projects with measurable outcomes
• Strong Python plus hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Practical experience integrating and prompting LLM APIs in production
• Understanding of model evaluation, embeddings, and vector databases
• Familiarity with deploying models (containers, serverless, or managed inference)
• Clear communication — able to translate model behavior and trade-offs for non-technical clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience fine-tuning open-source models (LLaMA, Mistral) or training custom models
• MLOps tooling for versioning, monitoring, and CI/CD of models
• Background in NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems
